The highly-anticipated iPhone 5 is expected to launch next month, but if for some reason you’d like to purchase a first generation iPhone instead, you can now do so for $10,000. Yes, you read that correctly, $10,000.

Ebay seller samsonbible believes that his unopened 8GB first generation iPhone is a “rare collectors vintage box set” worth 10 grand:

“Stunning rare collectors choice Apple iPhone 1st generation 8GB and factory sealed!! You are seeing a piece of history!! This is an incredible collectors show piece!! This would be a crown jewel for any collection!!… …The collectors dream Apple iPhone!!”

Interestingly, it appears that he’s not the only one who thinks that the smartphone is so valuable. Phsledge, another eBay seller, is also selling a factory-sealed first generation iPhone for $10,000. However, neither of the sellers have had any bids on the smartphones yet.

Considering that the original iPhone was released only 5 years ago, its almost shocking that some people think its already worth this much. What do you think?
