Paying for themes

So I'm coming from a Samsung infuse that had a ton of dev support to a iPhone that people want to charge money for everything why is that? If your trying to make a living at making themes your in the wrong business and very greedy to say the least. You should be doing it for the love of the phone and challenge you get by changing the sale already awesome phone we all must love or why are we on here. I'm sure this will piss people off but I'm not here to make friends I'm here to tweak my phone. When I learn how to theme which I'm close I'll be post dl links for free the way it should be for all to enjoy.

There are many free themes out there as well, just depends on the dev

yeah ive had a few android devices and recently got an iphone a few days ago because of the price decrease and i have to agree. NO rom makers/themers charge for their work on android. it is what it is, but more then 85% of the themers charge and all the decent ones must be paid for. it really kind of sucks but what can you do. i just dont see myself paying for tons of themes no matter how much or how little money it is.

I have to agree. I've had smartphones from their inception, starting with palm, on to windows, several android and out of curiosity recently an iphone 4s. Every mobile platform I've had experience with has had a strong dev community with great options and creativity.

iOS developers stand out as the only ones to charge for everything. Everything. Even tiny tweaks.

I can agree with all of the above. I think it's just the Apple mentality. Apple charges for everything, no matter how big or small. It takes a quarter just to remove the battery on the Apple TV remote....seriously. :-P

So I guess developers assume that people are used to paying and it's not a big deal. Most developers work for donations (at least Android) but who's going to donate after dropping all that mulah on a Apple device.

I'm a huge Android fan, got 2 Android phones, a tablet and now an iPhone 4s but I still think most inspiration
and good stuff comes from the iOS (icons, walls, docks and so on).

I often buy stuff on iOS and port it to Android and vice versa. I don't care about paying a beer to someone
who has done a great job.

As for NFR themes; those people need to die! Hate them. And wining about me having/getting the stuff not
from them but from someone else haha .
