iPhone 3gs problem , please help

A friend asked me to fix his iphone 3gs. The iphone was stuck in the recovery mode. After trying everything I could, I made a restore through itunes to ios 5.1.1 using a custom ipsw file which preserved the baseband. After that the phone turned on as normally, there was the iphone setup , which needed to be completed, but after a couple of minutes the phone rebooted. And so it won't stay turned on for more than a couple of minutes. What should I do!!! Please help me as soon as possible! Thank you!

I would say the same thing. My phone was acting up but a second restore worked. But those restores were done with a Mac running Mountain Lion.

I speak the truth; you just have to open your ears to hear it.

Apparently the problem is that the owner tried to upgrade to 6.15 baseband and this iphone isn't compatible. Therefore it got bricked like this. It will continously reboot, the modem firmware is blank, no imei, no wifi, no gps, no bluetooth etc.
