how to use iphone 4s verizon on sprint

Is there any way I can change the verizon iphone 4s to work on sprint?

I know it's a bit slower, but I just need to save money. I'm a college student so yeah...

Nope. Although both CDMA phones, it's not possible to use a phone designed for one network on the other.

Technically, it is possible but it's all up to Sprint to allow that device on their network. It would also require a reprovisioning of your handset for Sprint. And AFAIK Sprint has been notoriously strict about allowing handsets they didn't sell on their network.

The only switching of networks between Sprint and Verizon I've ever heard of is a hack to the Evo 3D that allows it to pick up Verizon 4G (not 3G, edge, etc). Both Verizon and Sprint are super strict and I've never heard of a single device being used (fully) on either network that wasn't made specifically for said network.

Without doing something illegal like changing esn's I don't think it'll ever happen. Even then, there would be software/radio changes needed. Take for example, the Iphone 4S. It can be carrier unlocked and used on any (even US) network. Verizon is still not compatible with Sprint and visa versa.

The hardware is identical with the only difference being the firmware that's installed. Also, without using a jailbreak and a SIM interposer, the CDMA phones can't be unlocked to be used on US carriers. The only thing you will gain is international use with a local prepaid SIM. Without an interposer, your iPhone will simply state it's not supported and refuse to activate.

Correct. But even with an interposer, Verizon and Sprint phones aren't interchangeable.

Check out Pageplus. They resell Verizon service. Pay by the month... same towers and service as buying directly from Verizon. They have a $55 dollar plan for Unlimited Voice and Text and 2gb of data. Lots of plans down from that.

True that. My post was vague and didn't explain that the official unlock only unlocked the GSM radio for non USA service and an interposer was required for USA GSM service.

You could take your 4s to a sprint store and they will buy it back right now buy back price is well worth it that will pay for your sprint 4s and a case
