How to Unjailbreak iPhone 4S running 5.1.1?

I read in a couple of other threads on these forums that the Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Content and Settings won't work on a Jailbroken 4S phone running 5.1.1. Using that procedure will throw the phone into an unrecoverable loop. Is it possible to remove all traces of the recent jailbreak from a 4S phone running 5.1.1.? And, if so, what is the procedure? I used Absinthe 2.0.4 to jailbreak.

I need a little more info to help you.

What happens when you plug it in?

Plug in phone to PC, power off. Hold menu and power button for 10 seconds, release power button but continue to hold menu for an additional 30 seconds. The screen is now black and the phone is in DFU mode. Open Itunes on your computer, it will pop up and say it sees an Iphone in recovery mode and prompt you to update and restore. Agree to the prompts and sit back/relax as Itunes downloads the latest IOS and flashes unjailbroken firmware to your device. It will reboot as a stock, wiped device.

I've done this countless times on multiple devices so I can confirm it works.

It's almost impossible to brick it just by taking an OTA but I'm pretty sure the OTA would fail and may leave the phone stuck in a boot loop. I'd just use the method I told you if you need to unjailbreak it.

Ok I've downloaded a 5.1.1 Ipsw file to the pc do to a shift restore from iTunes. Do I not need to do this? And just let iTunes do it itself in dfu ?

Either way renders the same result. Either let Itunes download it for your or do a shift restore and point to the one you've already downloaded.
