    No Service 5.1

    Hey everyone.

I performed an upgrade to 5.1 earlier today. Proceeded to jailbreak with Redsnow 0.9.11

Now the phone has a No Service message despite being hacktivated successfully.

I downloaded the 'Ultrasnow for 5.1' fixer from Cydia, reset the device, and the message is still displaying.

Any ideas for a fix because I have searched and have been unable to find anything valuable.

    Thanks.

    More info would be helpful:

Sorry. I got too carried away with the issue and forgot to state the device model.

    I'm on an Iphone 3GS

    Baseband: 6.15

    Firmware: 5.1.1

    Carrier: Rogers (Canada)

Jailbreak succeeded yet phone displays "No Signal"

I had the same problem 2 days ago and this is how i fixed it. After installed ultrasnow fix for 511, re update the baseband 6.15 again with redsnow. Then service will show

How do I 're-update' the baseband?

I ended up trying to "Reset Network Settings" which didn't work

When I try to reflash with Redsnow I get a message saying "Already pwned and exploited specify IPSW"

This doesn't make any sense. I just re-flashed selecting "update baseband" in cydia I have a serial ending in 176. I specified a 5.1 IPSW

The stupid thing says its a 'tethered' jailbreak but I am able to power off and back on without problems

I've tried to reinstall Ultrasnow fix for 5.1.1 and Reset Network Settings again. Yet I still have 'No Signal' after start up.

    RESOLVED:

I installed 'ultrasnow fixer for 5.1' then went back to search tab in cydia and searched for 'ultrasnow' and installed the ultrasnow only titled package

Then restarted spring board and I now have reception

Does this mean I didn't need to go back and reflash baseband? Did I do any harm to the device? or are there any other necessary steps to take in light of that?
