    Jailbreaking noob question

hi i have just got my first ever iphone 4s in uk and am looking at jail breaking - im a ex droid user so getting used to it all
from what i see its a safe worry free process but talking to my friend who knows more about it said this

    them>
Nah, seriously do not do that. Apple releases regular iOS updates to combat it. Unless you are happy missing out on iOS updates, as your phone can be bricked remotely.

Me >‎ :s dam didnt know they could remote brick it, how do they manage to do that?

them > Apple validates the iPhone with the iOS servers when you update, so your validation will fail when authorising the update. It's the same principle with beta versions of iOS, but for those developers can access the iOS provisioning tool and enter the serial number so it passes validation for a beta - that's what i do. They are not massively strict on it at the moment, but that's changing later this year.

does any of this look correct to you guys

    does jailbreak carry any risks?

when there is a update what happens ' will it just de-jailbreak my phone?'

sorry as im sure these have been asked many times, but just want to be sure i know what im doing

    Lmao

*There is always a risk when updating your iOS jail broken or not, though the iOS is not as bad as the droid roms*

1: No they do not remotely brick your iPhone, it's your property.

2: Jailbreaking is rather easy and can easily be undone by putting the iPhone in DFU and using iTunes to restore it.

3: Apple update do remove the jailbreak if you enjoy the jailbreak you should avoid updating the iPhone until the next jailbreak is available.

4: The jailbreaks usually take months to brew its not a easy process.

The iPhone is relatively the same you just get to install apps that apple doesn't allow some are really great others are useful.

Rooting droids is a bigger risk not sure why but they to brick easily.
