I find it hard to believe (not to say that your lying) that just doing updates in cydia that your phone is now stuck at the apple logo.Do you know what firmware you were on and your baseband and if you had old boot or new boot?

Can this be accomplished using a Mac?
If so, what programs do I use and versions?

I believe you can do the same with redsnow (for the mac) instead of sn0wbreeze

    dear sir
please tell me this that i had read somewhere that in order to be of old boot rom my serial no. should be less then 135 (i mean the third forth and fifth no. of my serial no is that true? as i am unable to put my phone in dfu mode to check out the rom version.
it keeps getting stuck at recovery instead of dfu mode . i know that it very easy and also i have done this a thousand times but with this perticular phone i am facing this problem . any way out other then the one u mentioned, like a s/ware that will put my phone into dfu straightway just like tinyumbrella which helps with recovery mode.
i know this might be a lot for me to ask but still help me out if u can
    thanks a lot

Sorry for the delay in replying

Unless you manufactured the phone yourself there is no way to 100% guarantee that it is old boot rom. I have read that also but with so many different variations of details out there, the method I wrote is by far the best way to find out.

Try iReb to put it into DFU mode

    Without a doubt.OldBootRom.jpg
The only thing is that am on, Windows 7 64bit and here it's termed as "Device Instance Path"

My question is, Am in this statef0recast.jpg

I mean that my phone is already on Custom ISPW 5.0.1, this one:
    httpforumiphone-developerscom/iphone-hacking-jailbreaking-modding/2682-ios-5-0-1-jailbreak-unlock-using-these-custom-ipsw-fileshtml
(Am not allowed to post the link) But it's a sticky and it's my guy named "Mahmood" Am sure you must be aware.

I jailbroke it with "Redsn0w 0.9.10b5" but Cydia keeps crashing, after fully loading once. As a matter the phone keeps on randomly rebooting.

There are too many guides/master, looking forward to choosing one.
