iPod Touch 4th Generation Digitizer Replacement [HELP]
I am going to be replacing the digitizer on my iPod touch 4th generation.
I'm replacing the digitizer ONLY without changing the LCD.
Does anyone have any clear instructions on how to do this?
The only instructional videos I can find are replacements of both parts.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Read up and found this out, so I am sharing with all of you who might have the same question one day.
From what I have read, separating the digitizer from the LCD is basically impossible since the two pieces are fused together with adhesive.
So if you one day decide to order a digitizer only to replace your iPod touch 4th generation, reconsider paying a few bucks more more the digitizer+LCD combo.
I wouldn't recommend ordering just the digitizer even if your LCD screen is not damaged. Just go ahead and replace both at the same time.
About 95% of people who have tried replacing the digitizer and reusing the LCD by separating the two pieces have failed miserably with the repair and break the LCD.
So my confusion now is why do people sell the digitizer without the LCD?
The world may never know.
Hope this helps someone else as well.

Just logged in to thank you for posting an update of your situation, RBarnett09, and what you found from your research. In pretty much the same situation atm, and your two posts have saved me a lot of time researching as well as, potentially, a lot of money. Thanks again.
