iPhone 3GS stuck on recovery mode

Alright so long story short my aunt gave me an iphone to unlock for her. I think "hey all I gotta do is jailbreak this thing and I'll be pretty much done."
    That was not the case.
The iphone would reboot constantly. Every 2-3 minutes. It had no service(I think she took the sim out), no wifi, no nothing. So I'm like whatever, and I keep trying to boot into DFU mode to use redsn0w. After trying multiple times I search it up and get a possible solution. To restore it from itunes in recovery mode. But it didn't finish. It almost finished, but I got an error -1(I think this is where the problem started). So i try to fix it with redsn0w again. I use the recovery fixer thing and I get into DFU for the first time, but it says my build is unrecognized. So I download 2 ipsw's (5.0.1 and 5.0) and try them both. Neither ends up working. So then I hear about iReb with libusb. I try that, get into pwned DFU, and it still doesn't work. I end up using iFaith and it says it can't find an iOS on the phone.
so now, what is a fella to do? There has to be something, it's still recognized by itunes and all of those programs, right? iphone developers, you're my only hope.

iTunes error -1 is a bb error try letting the iPhone die and power back on.

Did you make sure the iPhone compatible with the iPad bb?

Error code -1 is basically a bad update something went wrong.

You may just have a nice iPod right now.

That's what I'm saying your iPhone is basically a brick ATM your bb didn't not flash properly, you can try and use iTunes to update again but you will end up with the same issue.
