I have an iphone n4s and my girlfriend has a nokia we both have gmail address we can chat with the chat with gmail chat me on my computer and she on her phone but when I install gmail on my iphone she can only chat sometimes don't know the reason why I have tried several apps on my iphone i can send message to my girlfriend they show up on my computer screen as sent but she does not receive them so I am wondering if there is an app I can download that work we she is over seas right now and chat is cheaper than text and I don't want to have to sit at my computer all the time I would like to be able to chat from my bed .

What kind of nokia does she have? Honestly, i'm not sure why Gmail isn't working correctly on both phones but have you considered just using another app when switching to your phones? Kik, whatsapp, and tons of other apps are cross-platform and work on data.
