Help about iPhone 3GS Notification

hello guys i want to know if this natural or something wrong with my iphone 3gs

facebook, viber,yahoo messenger,etc only shows notification when one of them is using on the spot..

when i minimize it no more notification only shows a red circle with number on the top of the apps

other apps like a game poker shows notification and alerting me with a banner message even when the game is not on

is this natural?

i am new using IOS Phone thats why im want to know if it is

Later i am using a android phone and i wonder if iphone is like android that pushing notification a banner message and alerting me

even im in a wifi hotspot no luck..

guys kindly explain for me this if it is natural or maybe issue on push notification
