what the difference if the iphone 5 has 4 inch screen?

It's said that the next iphone ie iphone 5 will upgrade to a 4 inch screen (you can have a quick look thru my blog ), what worried me most is may causing backwards compatibility problems, and otherwise fragmenting the platform and frustrating we iphone developers?

I wish people would drop this whole fragmentation issue. Its been thrown around way to much, especially in regards to Android.

It will take a dev 5 mins to make his/her apps compatible with a new screen size. Took them the matter of days if that to change them to be compatible with the new ipad.

Apple cant keep the size of screen they have for much longer. They are now playing catchup with Android phones, so they need to up the game and that includes screen size.
