Conference call > End last call?

I use 2-way calling a lot at work and I can not figure out how to end the last call without disconnecting both calls. This is especially annoying when the 2nd person does not pick up and it goes to voicemail. I googled and found people talking about hitting the back button or green/send button to return to the previous call but there is no option for that once you 2-way the calls together. Please any help for this!? Thanks!

I always held one call while I tried contacting the other person once I got them just merge the call, but I haven't done that since the original iPhone came out no one wants to talk to me.

I use the merge feature now and it works great. The only exception is when the second person I am trying to dial does not pick up (or I want to disconnect them during the call), I can't.... there is no option to ditch the 2nd call without ending the entire call.

There is no way to end the previous call? That really does not make any sense....
